How much of my donation will go toward the education of a child?

One hundred percent of your donation will go toward the child's education.  We (thankfully) have an alternate source of income, some of  which can be used for administrative costs like stationery, postage, website maintenance, etc.  Many services are donated as well, which helps.  You are always welcome to ask that a certain part of your donation go toward paying our field agents in Uganda, who work for us without expectation of compensation.

How do I know that my money will go toward the education of a child?

Our field agent in Kampala is Simbwa Busulwe.  Our field agents in Gulu are Denis Ayella and James Latigo.  These are men whom the founder knows personally and who are dedicated to improving education in Uganda.  We have every confidence that they are men of integrity and will use all funds as directed.

If I can't afford a year's education for a child, can I donate a lesser amount?

Absolutely.  You can donate as little as $20 US to go toward the education of one of the children.

Can I choose which child to sponsor?

At this time, you are unable to choose which child to directly sponsor; however, no matter how small your donation, we will match you with a child.

Can I get updates on how my sponsor child is doing in school?

Not only do we get regular updates from the child's school, we encourage the children to write letters and e-mails letting us know of their personal and/or educational progress.  When you login and select the My Child link, those updates will be available as we receive them.

Can I make regular payments rather than one large payment?

Yes.  A full year's tuition comes to $21 per month.  You can, however, also choose a lesser amount as a monthly withdrawal.
